Y'know, Metamon in Horizons has actually been quite a cute and fun addition. I like it so far. And even though I felt meh about eps 137 to 138, I did find myself enjoying 139 and 140. Metamon mostly doing the trick. But I also find Liko fangirling fun :D Been a while she got to do that on screen.

I got nothing positive to say about Wonder Voyage first ep.

It was just meh.

I didn't even find the opening and ending songs enjoyable, which is also meh lol.

Neat to see Amethio in the opening however.

EDIT: I want to add, while we haven't met Navi yet, the fact that she's the most prominent part of opening AND ending has me worried that Liko is sidelined again, and now Roy will get more sidelined lol.

One thing still bothers me with current Horizons direction. HZ136 and Wonder Voyage spoilers under the cut.

Why is Cap not with Friede.

Wouldn't it make sense for Friede and Cap to be together now that all's well?

And narratively, why make Friede not return to RVT? I do kinda get why he'd want to help research in Exceed again but.... Without Cap? Who is also super tied to the Brave Asagi.

I just... really don't like how the fumbled it with Friede. It feels like they had different ideas until it was time for him to return and had to rewrite his reasons for not joining back. Like, maaan.

Friede also became way too focused on mega, on Roy, barely interacted with Amethio or the others since his return... it feels so bizarre. Uruto has fun adoration towards Friede which I like, but the rest has felt... off. To someone who absolutely loved Friede and his narrative before the end of year 2.

I guess that will remain my biggest issue in Mega Voltage and Rising Again arcs. How Friede got fumbled.

I'm glad HZ136 was this good.

I'm still disappointed with the unbalance of focus throughout the year, but I feel like this episode nailed it. Spinel got what he deserved too. And I still feel bad for the bastard. Shows how well they managed to make him a villain who loses it all in the end.

I cried at Liko's speech at Spinel, I cried at Blacky releasing herself from Spinel, I cried at Pagogo release.... gosh.

Rising Again and Mega Voltage had their issues, but I am so glad they managed to nail down the finale of the main story. Well done.

Looking forward to fun times with Wonder Voyage!

I gotta say, I totally misunderstood how much of Rising Again arc is left because I initially thought they'll rush it to end today lol. But no. It looks like it ends either next week or first week of May, then I expect a small break til new arc begins.

New arc for Pokémon Horizons/2023 has been announced, called Wonder Voyage. The new arc begins May 2nd on TV Tokyo in Japan.
