End of half term!
What a gorgeous #UWCday art project @smccarrison77. Students drew patterns on paper feathers to represent who they are and the feathers became part of bigger, bolder wings. So beautiful. Thank you to everyone involved. #uwcseaeast @uwcsea_east (at UWCSEA East) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2oSfNrnXLS/?igshid=9m3qwnjzgjbp

So yeah, I put birds on things now. Because #soar and Sarah Kay’s poem inspiring this new school year. To welcome my new #8PGu kiddos- I gave them a blank card each with a hand drawn bird 🐦 on it! I asked them to write a note or letter from me, their 8PGu mama, saying what they hope I might say at the end of the year; something hopeful and life giving and true. I wrote one from them too. I hope I live up to it because they’re a great bunch who deserve to feel safe, loved and seen. Thank you for a great day 1. I was happy to learn how to draw birds step by step for each one of you. . . . #uwcseaeast #day1 #sy201920 #8PGu #uwcsea_east #uwclearn #soar (at UWCSEA East) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1WDbHgHEIJ/?igshid=41bql9navzn8

who we are
What hidden writing talent does the middle school at UWCSEA East have that we can show the world? This is the question we asked ourselves during the creation of Off Tangent. The stories, articles, drawings and photos in this magazine are the answer. We created this magazine because we wanted to show the world the creations of the middle school. When we write we share our thoughts, our lives and our emotions. When we draw or take photos we capture our world view.
