Knock him out? "Vik, don't you fucking dare." Comes the low growl from the Merc, but it doesn't really have any bite to it. He's not too keen on the idea of being shot up with a sedation, especially with what it could mean.

"Think about it. You sedate me and that leaves a door wide open for Johnny to come out to play and then I really won't get rest." Glancing out of the corner of his eye, he spots Johnny scoffing but he seems rather amused. He wants to scold him, tell him that he's glad one of them finds this amusing but instead, V's eyes land back on Vik.

V’s been called a lot of things but amazing is pretty high up on the list of compliments that he doesn’t hear often. Sure, people who have seen him in action have sung his praises but there’s something about the way Kerry calls him amazing that sort of makes his heart skip a beat.

It brings forth a laugh, as dry as it may be. “Amazing? Alright, yeah, I’ll take that.” Better than the constant reminder of what he’s done - the things people have called him for being Corpo and maybe they were all right. Maybe he is heartless but there Kerry is - looking at him like he’s his whole goddamn world.

“I’m not but, uh, thanks.” A small smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes - rarely does these days given his current sitution and how he feels like he’s slowly losing his mind. How much longer before he loses himself completely? 

And Kerry is here through it all and there’s a instinct telling V to push him away before he can get his heart broken, before he gets close enough to be willing to watch him die. Fuck, he should leave right now, tell Kerry to lose his number and never come back.

Pain. Peircing pain. It’s like someone has taken a hammer to V’s skull and it’s enough to bring him to his knees. Shit, it gets worse every single day, every single second and the very source of his problem has kneeled down next to him and tries to comfort him like that’ll fix things.

“S-Shut the fuck up, Johnny. This is your fault.” He doesn’t mean to sound so harsh but goddamn, the pain is ridiculous and Johnny trying to be all soothing isn’t exactly helping him, at all. Maybe if he wasn’t in so much pain, V would appreciate the setiniments. 

“I’m fine. I’m fine.” Hand flies out as if to push Johnny away from him as he tries to regain his breath, having it knocked out of him with the pain that had been sent shooting through his skull. “Why are you suddenly so worried about me anyway?”

“Sounds like you lost someone too.” Saying goodbye to Jackie was hard enough, V can’t imagine losing someone and being unable to say goodbye to them. Living life as a street kid, she’d never actually allowed herself to get close enough to anyone until Jackie. She’s just glad she got to say goodbye, got to go to his funeral. “You, uh, maybe wanna talk about it?”
