It was a longshot, he knew. It had been months since he’d last seen Kage. And the dog had been on a mission of his own. There was little to no chance that he was still wandering around the city. And New York was so big that, statistically speaking, Jin would probably never even find him if he was.

And yet, every time he had a day off, Jin would find himself wandering, keeping an eye out for a German Shepard that was just a tad too big, a bit too smart, and far too wily to be a normal dog. He walked the city, haunting the park and the areas around the SHIELD base where he’d last seen the dog stalking, hoping that he’d catch a glimpse of him.

They’d only been together for a few days, but Jin felt a connection with the android. They’d both been looking for answers. And now Jin felt like he had a few.

Introducing two new verses

...which I haven’t done much, aside from Resistance, but I had some ideas that are horrible

v: Defect

Weyoun 8 is physically defective, but never finds out about this until after the fall of the Dominion. Vorta are supposed to be sterile, but Weyoun discovers he is not when he finds himself pregnant with his master’s child. Suddenly he has a reason to try to get away - and his master has all the more reason to keep him captive.

v: Shattered

The “bad end” for the Collateral Damage AU, in which Weyoun’s mind has finally broken under the constant torment and abuse he’s suffered in captivity. He is the perfect pet, submissive and obedient, almost completely non-verbal - he doesn’t know how to be anything else anymore. Perhaps if he was free, he might eventually be able to rebuild his shattered sense of self, but it will be a long and painful road for anyone who intends to help him.

It was over.

His uncle was dead. His best friend had betrayed him and died for it. The Sakai family was disbanded and Jin was public enemy number one in Tsushima’s underworld. Hell, there were probably people on the mainland who wanted his head too. He wasn’t safe here. He wasn’t going to be safe here for a very long time.

He managed to sneak back to the family offices to retrieve the mempo--the real one--and a few other keepsakes. He’d swept his apartment too, taking only what he couldn’t bear to leave behind. Everything he was taking lay packed away in two suitcases near his front door, waiting for him to leave. It was heartbreaking.

Jin stood on the balcony of his apartment, smoking one last cigarette before it was time to leave. Agents Sterling, Amador, and Romanoff assured him that if he went with them to America, he would be safe, that there would be a place for him there. He would go, of course. It was the smart thing to do. But he would miss Tsushima, and he wanted one last look before he had to leave for the forseeable future.

Jin blinked down at the coat and umbrella that suddenly appeared in his hands, then looked up and blinked at Chen all but dancing in the rain. He chuckled a bit and shook his head. 

“Amazing, huh?” he called out. “I hope you don’t expect me to join you. I have to go back to work after this and I’d rather not have soggy slacks.”
