Shame

“There's a reason that boy doesn't want to leave!”
Bruce was so angry, he was shaking. He had trouble understanding his kids at times. There were times he didn't say what he needed to say. Or do what he needed to do. But he had never met anyone so oblivious and seemingly apathetic to the people he was supposed to be closest to.
He clenched his jaw and glanced to the side, where the two Jasons were watching, with one urging the other to stay back. This probably wasn't going anywhere good.
But the father persisted.
“I've been more of a father to him in a matter of weeks than you have in years. Anything he needed, I did my best to give to him. When he messed up, I didn't yell at him. When he had problems, I listened to him. And I didn't have to! I could have bitched about much I missed my son, but I didn't. I could have ignored him. Because he would end up back here anyway, but I didn't. Because he was scared. And even if he wasn't Jason to begin with, I couldn't just leave him! How hard is it to treat your son like a human being? Or to be half the father Alfred raised you to be!?”
