"...Somebody insulted my little brother they'd get a fist in the mouth..."
"...You ask me, Hell is the basement - all kinds'a crap you wish people would throw away and be done with but they won't, and for no damn good reason..."
"And - you know. I know I committed a 'sin', but I didn't think the Taboo was bad enough that 'giving up your life to save somebody else' wasn't weighty enough to counterbalance sending a guy to Hell and branding that thing down his back. That's not equivalent at all!"
"For all it kinda makes me more physically powerful, I really hate that this tail cripples my agility. Better at climbing, though, so... I guess that's neat. Would be better if I wasn't in this shithole, but... eh."
A shock of yellow can be seen, half-hidden, in the middle a coil of scaly black. Edward is relaxing, as best he's able to, anyway. He actually looks quite comfortable, all things considered.
(Perhaps the one thing he enjoys about his new form)
"Why does the food down here suck so bad - has no one ever heard of Amestrian food? Do I have to make it myself? I will if I have to. And I won't share it, if if I have to do that."
Ed hated that he was here.
Hated that he couldn't be with his brother, as well - he didn't hate that Al wasn't down here with him, but he did hate that Al wasn't accessible.
Honestly, he hoped Al never showed up here. But that didn't stop Edward from missing him.
The people here were all collectively awful. The sort of people he wouldn't have hesitated to knock down a peg or three back home, but couldn't on account of even if he beat them until they ran off for good, the people that took their place would be just as vile as their predecessors.
At least he wasn't falling over himself whenever he tried to move.
Whatever entity had decided on changing his shape to a black-scaled snake with the Gate splashed down his spine in red and gold, could go fuck itself with its shitty symbolism.
But again
at least he could move properly now.
And at least he was left alone. It helped that Ed tended to fight back for all his was worth whenever some idiot tried something.
...A snake body, as it turned out, had its own fun tricks he could pull in combat.
"What the hell do you mean by both, smart-ass?" He's incredulous and confused as shit. "How the hell can you save and kill me, hah?" [Kokuto @ Szayel]
"--Because we're in hell, obviously, so dying or being killed isn't permanent anyway; that's why? But I suppose if you were in a real serious pinch and needed saving, well, I wouldn't really mind sweeping in like a gallant knight in shining armor, or whatever, though?" he says, in an exceptionally poor attempt to explain his logic. "Either role suits me quite well, don't you think?"
