Remember Me
theforgottenrunner
When she woke up, her head ached more than the reddened marks around her wrists. She hadn’t understood what happened to her, not at all, only that the ground was shaking and the people around her were freaking out. Her eyes darted to the tools around this...torture chamber and she swallowed in fear, but nobody was really paying attention to her. They were all scrambling to leave the room.
Following their lead, her heart almost choking her as it beat heavily in her chest. She didn’t know where she was or what was happening, only that she had to get out of there quickly. She saw fire and lots of people running, so she followed their lead. Through the buildings, up and over the fence, and into the woods that lay beyond. It was quiet and she didn’t see anybody that she had come across on her way out. Her lungs ached from running as did her muscles, and finally she wound up slumping against a tree.
Five minutes later, she heard the sound of a twig snapping and she jumped, peaking out from behind a tree to see another person, a brunette woman she didn’t recognize, running through the woods. For a moment she wanted to go back behind the tree, but something was stopping her from doing so. She wanted to make her presence known to this woman. Slowly she stepped out, her eyes guarded and her stance fearful. She looked at her with unsure eyes and gulped. “Were you in there, too?” she asked, wondering if she was one that had caused the marks around her wrists, or another victim.
