“Protect.”
Monaka had been quiet and hadn’t helped with the investigation or trial, and she’d honestly not even been able to pay that much attention when she tried. Focusing on anything for too long proved to be hard for her lately.
But the execution– No one, no one deserved that. Monaka just stared blankly, shocked, throughout the whole ordeal. She can’t cry, all she can do is watch.
❝ Twenty, nineteen, eighteen… ❞
It takes her a few seconds to process what’s happening. But seeing everyone clambering to get out suddenly gave her the feeling she should follow. Once outside, she’s blank for just a few more moments before…
A quiet sob. She’s not sure why she’s so shaken by this execution, more than the others, but she’s terrified. She didn’t care at all about the girl who died, and she was able to deal with previous executions pretty well, so why does this bother her so much? She doesn’t understand why she’s so upset, and she hates it. (Shehatesit, shehatesit, sheHATESIT!!)
She’s trying so, so desperately to stop the tears that are spilling out, practically clawing at her face as she tries to cover her eyes. She’s so weak, she’s such a failure, she’s upset about the death of someone who didn’t matter to her, who she’d never even spoken to. She’s pathetic.
She doesn’t want to die here. She doesn’t want anyone else to die. She doesn’t want any more of this. There’s the horrible thought that she and everyone else might be stuck here for the rest of their lives, and she just lets out a quiet helpless noise.
There wasn’t even a motive this time. Anyone could be next, for any reason at all, and that was a scary thought.

"You look...familiar to me."
“...What are you talking about? We’ve spoken before. Like, a few times, at least.”
“...It sure has been quiet around here lately.”
Yes the traitor is CLEARLY a good guy. Yeah. Oh no it's not like this is sarcasm or anything.
“Well, they revealed themself so that no one would die... I don’t think that makes them bad. Monaka’s stayed out of the loop, ‘cause being in the Utilidors was bad, so I thought maybe this would be bad, too. So I’m staying out of it for the most part...”
“...Monaka never actually learned who the traitor is or anything like that, but.. This doesn’t sound good. The traitor’s a good guy, right?”
You should have died from that lightning. At least then we wouldn't have to listen to your annoying positivity.
“Are you still hung up over how much you hate Monaka? You know Monaka couldn’t care less, right? You should really calm down there, Anonymous!”
