“Daryl...” Rick murmured, coming up behind the man. He knew now probably wasn’t the time. That all this was likely to be put on him as a blame. “‘M sorry bout Merle.”

The office was dark. Papers piled up around the room. Some documents even covering the floor. But there sat a phone at the end by a window. One that looked clean, almost too clean to be there with all the other rubbish. The phone isn’t what drew Rick in at first though, it was more of a fact that he had to get away. As much as he loved Carl and Judith, he couldn’t see them. Not with knowing that the child was responsible for the death of his wife. A hand reached out, holding his weight up against the wall. He looked pale. Sweat covering his forehead despite the odd cool sensation that wrapped around his body. That is the first time he heard the phone ring. His blue eyes quick to look at it. The confusion stitching his brows together in a tight pinch. “H-Hello?” He called out, and even though he knew a phone wasn’t suppose to work unless you had clicked answer or picked up the receiver.

Daryl had finally gotten back from a run, he drove the moving van into the new gates they’d put up since the governor had attacked and parked it on the fresh pavement they’d put down since the only one was cracking making it hard to walk or drive on. “Got a lot of supplies,” he said as he climbed out of the truck, “was lucky - found some center or somethin’ prolly where stores got all their shit,” “Found some blankets, canned stuff, baby formula and food - I don’t know if half of it is any good but it’s worth a try; anythin’ to keep everyone looked after,” he said gently then sighed, “and I got you this, said you needed it n’all,” he said holding up a good winter jacket with a small shrug. It would fit her perfectly, with fall on them they had harvested the crops; now all they had to do was keep at it. They had survived the last attack, and now he was dead; rebuilt from what he tore down and things were going good. Their medical supplies was well stocked, their crop field was expanded and thriving; things were better than they ever had been - even when they were on the farm.

The light whimpers turned into piercing cries of hunger as the tiny baby wiggled in the makeshift crib beside Beth’s bunk-bed. The groggy teen rubbed at her dark circled eyes as she sat up in her bed, shifting her attention to the distressed baby girl in the box. It had been the third time tonight that she had woken up to her screams and gosh if she didn’t feel like a mother now she didn’t know what it would feel like to have her own children. Bending down she began to soothe the helpless newborn before scooping her up out of the bed, supporting her head as she cradled her against her chest. “Shh.. Judy, it’s okay. It’s okay,” she attempted to console her, but she knew that something had to have been bothering the infant. Her stomach must have been giving her trouble again and that only meant that Beth wasn’t getting an inkling of sleep tonight.
The sleep deprived Greene stood to her feet as she rocked the baby girl in her arms, rummaging through the box to pull out her pacifier. She placed the dummy in her mouth to try and hush the sobs of the baby girl and after a moment of her accepting the device she began to calm in the blonde’s arms. “You really don’t want Bethy to sleep tonight..” she mumbled, an exhausted smile pulling at her lips. She figured if she wasn’t going to be resting that she might as well make her way down the stairs of the prison. Maybe a walk would help soothe the baby back to sleep. Just as she pushed the sheets from her doorway, Beth let out stunned shriek from the dark figure that stood outside the presence of her cell. “Jesus-- you--” she tried to salvage her breath but the moment her eyes fell on the man, she took a step back in surprise. “You scared me..”

He didn’t know what to say but he pulled off his second jacket - it was cold out there was no way in his right mind could he leave her without a coat. “Here.. take mine,” he said holding it out to her. It was recently washed so he didn’t think it smelled much, but he doubted anyone could tell anymore since the stench of the dead took over almost everything. “I got this one I’ll be fine,”

“You got a jacket or somethin’?” he asked as he looked at the blond furrowing his brow, it was too cold outside to even think about not having a jacket. “Shouldn’t be out here without one,” he tried to not worry outwardly - he knew the others would notice and he didn’t need them tryin’ to talk to him about feelings.

Constance let out a short breath as she closed her eyes, “I would but I don’t want him to get sick too, I’ll be fine; it’s probably just a stomach bug I used to get them all the time working in the hospital,” she told Daryl softly then cracked her eyes open to look at him. “I’ll prolly quarantine myself off from the kids too to keep them from gettin’ sick but I’ll be alright, always am,” she said to him as she pulled her knees to her chest and groaned at the sick feeling in her stomach.
