my 1989 verse for harley is based on the comic batman 1989: echoes. but in which the joker does not day and harley has her origin story intact, it's a sort of mesh of both where harley started doing the true face things around the time where the joker was in arkham but he wasn't necessarily present. he requested to talk to her and i bet there's some tension as to why she would use his likeness and she would simply respond with the fact that she didn't that is her true face. the joker then gets the hots after being really fucking mad for a second and harley breaks him out.
