[[ plotted starter for @pureblooded
It had taken some doing, figuring out how to send letters into the wizarding world now that he was completely isolated from it and planning to stay that way, but Harry finally settled on sending them through his mother, as pathetic as that felt. Regardless, four and a half years after Harry had killed Voldemort and then run away, leaving nothing more than a scribbled note, a letter--carefully inked with a ball-point pen on lined paper--arrived via post-office owl to Ron’s home.
Hi. I know you’re probably furious with me, or at least you were. Please don’t try to track the letter--that’s not what this is about. I’m safe, I’m happy, and most importantly, I’m finally sure that my identity is secure enough that I can get back in touch without being found out.
I’ve missed you. You and Hermione. Are you still together? I have so many questions.
I went to university in America. I’m using a different name now, but you wouldn’t believe how nice it was to go to school where teachers didn’t hate me and I was never kidnapped or tortured. I wish you could’ve been there with me. Hermione was right though--I should’ve studied Arithmancy instead of Divination. I’ve been learning some of it now. I’ve graduated though, and I’m learning to fly muggle airplanes now. It’s almost as fun as riding a broom.
I’m not coming back. I know you might hate me for that. You have the right to. I’ve made a life though, where I can be just me, like I always wanted to be. You know I hated being famous from the second I found out I was. If you’d like to keep talking to me anyways, please send an owl back to the Washington DC post office. PO box 1368. Address it to whoever you’d like, so long as it’s not my actual name. They can forward it to me from there.
I really hope you write me back, Ron. I’d love to hear everything about your life and tell you everything that I’ve been up to.
