Harry had been trying to find religion for a while now--trying to find some purpose and organization for his life. But in lieu of a real direction or connection, until he found something right, he'd been celebrating the traditional wizarding holidays, including the Solstices. So, he'd organized a party and was now manning the grill while the children (who had helpfully filled his hair with picked flowers about an hour earlier) played in the pond. "Hey, Draco. How's it going over there? Teddy doing alright?"

Harry had left Teddy with his grandmother to spend the weekend with her that morning and he'd been puttering around, trying to make tonight perfect for him and Draco ever since. They hadn't really had a conversation about it, but they'd discussed it enough in bits and pieces that he was sure they were on the same page about tonight. They should have sex.

It was a big deal--bigger than Harry wished it was-- but being on the run during a war with insane immortal wizards chasing him hadn't been particularly conductive to having experiences like these on a traditional timeline. Harry checked the oven, ensuring that dinner wasn't done yet, then went and changed his robes for the third time. Draco should be home soon and as much as he knew it was probably fine and that he had nothing to worry about... Worrying was all it felt like he could do.

Unwanted Neighbor

Pansy didn’t realize who her neighbor was until she met him at the dumpster in the back, weeks after she’d moved in.  Seven years. Seven bloody years of being villanized by every Potter-lover in the known wizarding world and finding the muggle world equally inhospitable until she pulled up her big girl knickers and decided she wouldn’t be a victim any longer.

But seriously... her neighbor. It would figure it would be Potter. The boy wonder she never could get out of her mind. The very one she’d suggested be sent to his early death because her schoolgirl desire for him was one she was sure would kill her if she didn’t get him out of her life. 

There he was, Pansy thought resentfully standing there as she was dumping her trash into the big bin. Even the bloody sun loved him since Potter seemed to be bathed in its light. She glared at his image, hoping to all that was Slytherin green she was staring at a mirage.

Draco was looking far too tense. Had been for a while now. So, Harry had dragged Draco to bed with lots of quiet kisses and murmured praise, hoping to remedy some of that situation. Finally, he'd stripped most of the way down and helped Draco do the same, and he'd sat back against the headboard and pulled his partner back against his chest. "Look at you, Draco. You're gorgeous. You're going to let me tell you what to do tonight?"

Verse: Parenting

After the war, Harry doesn’t want to go back to school or become an auror anymore. He doesn’t want to continue dating Ginny or to go explore the world. All he wants is to never ever repeat Sirius’s mistakes and ruin Teddy’s life in the process. That was his little boy now.

Harry fought for guardianship of his godson and the new government couldn’t afford to deny their hero. So, at not-quite-eighteen, he got a two-bedroom flat in a kind of dinky part of Diagon Alley and figured out single parenting.
