Fallout 3: V.A.T.S (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System)

Were you previously aware that V.A.T.S. was initially inspired by the crash mode in the Burnout games? Todd Howard described the system as, “Burnout crash mode with body parts.”

Emil also stated that the acronym was “sort of a homage” to the FEV vats in the original Fallout.
