Beide Lokomotiven wurden in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik (DDR) bei den Lokomotivbau Elektrotechnische Werke “Hans Beimler” in Henningsdorf (LEW) für die Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) 1971 und 1973 gebaut.
