You look up from the manga you had been reading to a huge surprise. You knew he was being released today, so you had waited for him in his room. But the wait was boring and Dave’s room was filthy. So you had cleaned everything up with Boo’s help and on your own you set up a massive blanket fort, complete with construction paper cut outs that spelled out, ‘Welcome Home.’ You crawl over to the entrance with a big smile. Probably the biggest smile you had been able to muster the past few weeks. You threw your arms around his waist and kissed him deeply. You held your smile in the kiss for a moment or two before taking his hand and leading him to the nest of pillows to lay down.
“Your Bro said you were coming home today, so I asked if I could come over and wait for you. Your room was a huge pigsty, you don’t need anything else making you sick. So Boo and I cleaned it up. But it was still kind of boring without you so I built a fort for you to veg out in. Look.” You pointed up at the blanket ceiling where you had stuck glow in the dark stars. “That’s Sagittarius. And that’s the big dipper. Of course the one next to it is the little dipper.” Your voice trailed on a bit out of sheer excitement before you sat up and looked over at him. “Welcome home Dave.”
Walking into your room came along with a big surprise. Not only had it been cleaned (though that wouldn’t last long), but it was also decked out with a huge blanket fort and small welcome home decorations. Then, to make the surprise better, your boyfriend crawled out from the fort, and you felt yourself utter the words “what are you doing under there” with barely any realization of saying it.
He didn’t answer right away and instead he wore a huge grin as he came over to you, and then wrapped his arms around you and kissed you. Deep. The affection was appreciated, longed for, and reciprocated. Your arms went tight around his waist too, pulling him in flush against you, and you leaned in. You were desperate for his physical attention and you soaked up every bit of it you could get until he took your hand as he pulled away and led you to the fort.
Then the explanation came out. You honestly were still a bit woozy from pain medication, but you listened to his response as much as you could as you layed back. You looked up as he pointed at glow in the dark stars on the upper part of the fort, pointing out different constellations which made you laugh in a way. He was such a nerd, but it was great. You loved stars. You loved forts. You loved him. Especially as he sat up and looked down over you.
You sat up a bit to kiss him good, resting the palm of your hand against his cheek and lacing fingertips into his hair. It was a deep kiss just like before, and you even spread your lips a bit, tilted your head a bit, and met his tongue,before very slowly and hesitantly you pulled back a bit. “heh...i missed’ya...this is so nice...i love it” You said, softly with a grin, “i wanna kiss you a whole bunch...i miss kissin’ you...izzat dumb?”
