Back from vacay
I have returned from my vacation. It was most delightful and a very welcome break that was sorely needed. Burn units get very busy in summer and even my last day before break was no exception. I was the only one running the floor and clinic; I discharged 3 patients, admitted 2, and didn’t leave until like 6:00 pm. I feel much more refreshed after this break.
We went to Iceland, Norway, and Denmark and it was so lovely. The weather was perfect the whole time and I did so much exploring. All of the fresh fish was a freaking God send and I managed to not kill Mr. Poppen in the process. ;-) We met up with a friend of my in-laws who is Norwegian. They gave us a lovely tour of Oslo and were so hospitable. It was hard trying to explain to them what I do for a living because the concept of a PA-C does not really exist in Norway (or much of Europe).
Now that I am back, I am playing catch up with emails and trying to see who is on the unit so that I am less lost when I go back on Monday. I am thankfully not too terribly jet lagged. Luckily I have the whole weekend to recover if need be.
