Holly: Protection and Luck.

Is your OC protective of those to whom they are close?  Are they ever somewhat over-protective?  Or do they prefer to let people suffer the consequences of their mistakes?  Perhaps because they see this as a useful life lesson?

Vaerra is very protective. She has precious few people that she actually allows herself to be close to. When they were children and growing up in a brothel she often took the blame for Elyas' mischief - she was a girl, therefore a bit more valulabe and it was less likely that she was going to be beaten within an inch of her life as a punisahment. She would still do just the same, though at the beginning of the story she doesn't necessarily feel like she has the means to protect anybody (it's not like she isn't trying - it just doesn't work out most of the time) - and part of her story is her coming into her own power and embracing it. She would definitely extend the same fierce protectiveness towards her children and later towards Laena and her children. She would, certainly extend that to Daemon if such situation was ever granted to her (not that she thinks he needs that... most of the time).

And she would definitely be... feral and scary in that protectiveness. You know in a way "no one hurts what is mine and keep their hands".

But since she can also be a little unhinged at times, she would certainly be prone to simply standing by out of sheer pettiness. Or if she felt like they deserved it. Depending on a person the misfortune would be happening to, she might even feel a little bit guilty afterwards. (Her kids are exception here - she would always protect them no matter what)

3. Has another person ever offered to leave their spouse or lover for your OC?  What was it about them that this person found so hard to resist? How did they feel about it at the time? 

Elyas is my little scheming monster and in all honesty, I didn't think of him yet as far as the matters of the heart are concerned, except for the fact that he would, certainly try to use that infatuation to his advantage - whithout necessarily thinking about the other person's feelings. Hell sometimes he doesn't thing about Vaerra's and she is the only family he ever has.

Elyas is damaged as far as emotions are concerned. He is smart, scarily so, and cunning, but one could say that he became willingly emotionally stunted in order to avoid the way those pesky feelings can cloud one's judgement. But the truth is he's damaged and so very bitter about it - he knows exactly who is his father and he is well aware that he willfully pretended that Elyas didn't exist. When he was a kid, Vaerra ws honestly the only person to tell him that she loved him. I don't think he sees himself worthy of being loved - so he settles for power and revenge.

Someone falling for Elyas would cetainly fall for his mind first. His drive. His cunning maybe. And he is not too shabby looking. And if Elyas allowed himself to feel rather than think and accepted the fact that someone could truly love him for what he is to the point of being willing to toss their life to the wind - he would have burned Westeros down for them. Without a dragon.

Hey this was supposed to be that fucked up background bit for Vaerra and Elyas... And here I am giving myself a case of feels.

Also I love Elyas and I am ready to excuse every crime that he is going to commit further down the line.

Side note: the background is still fucked up, they are just cute with each other.
