Confessions, Mechanics, and Down Trodden

After we had our date, he confessed to me. A confession that warmed my heart and I will never turn him away for it. He told me he loved me and although I am not sure if I love him yet, I know day by day I am growing to love him myself. I fear saying the words moreso than when I had said them to Azeiox. With Azeiox it was so natural. But with Serethis, I feel this need for gentle care and patience. Patience he has shown me with me hesitating in my words and he tells me many times that he does love me and each time the smile he holds reminds me how precious he is to me. How is it that Serethis, this one pirate of the skies, has come to warm my heart in ways I did not know was possible? This is much different than before. This is... comforting. And it only makes me want to continue my projects further so that I can make sure that he is safe and should something happen, I am prepared to deal with it and that should something happen to me... he knows I was thinking of him. I am aware that magic users either live very long lives or short lived ones. But let us live it to the fullest.

I work tirelessly each day. Morning I often wake in his arms and we start the day as any normal couple I would imagine. The space he stays in is small but it works for the now. I then whisk away to the manor to watch Lithilina for a few hours and work on my paperwork. Typically Emerald takes the hard work from me so I can concentrate but I do take my breaks to play with her a little. She is my little sister after all. When Althena comes home from her trip to Ul’dah I usually help her with lunch and back to more paperwork as I head to the docks. Everything turned in and sent out in Limsa Lominsa. My retainer falling on my heels, a lovely young Lalafel who goes by Joy and then Mahari, a Doman Xaela who found curiosity in the art of trade. I send them out on their errands and then I’m in that ship checking everything over and working on fixing it up. Sometimes, Serethis is there when he isn’t in his own projects. The engine has become my biggest project. And of course I keep up in practice with my magic, casting small spells to help me as I work.

Evenings I spend out and about but sometimes I feel the need to get ahead on some of my paperwork. I was able to get out to oversee a fight between Toff and Vahn. I was usually chosen for such because I could heal their injuries and I know I can deal with Toff should he lose control. I arrived and soon after Krysaria did as well with a man named Lamia. She wanted to show him my healing it would seem. But, our crowd grew. Lily joined us at some point and so did Dash and Brimcon. Even Nicholas, Brandon and Aiswynd showed. It was quite the gathering but I did my best to keep most of my focus on the fight. After all, they were really attempting to hurt each other. When the inner beast that Toff has was released I made comment of it and Lily rushed forward. It wasn’t intelligent. Toff does not differentiate between friend and foe when the beast is released and Dash was able to get her away with a quick jump. Vahn ended the fight and Toff turns out had not really lost control at all and did pass out. Vahn healed his injuries quickly as I made my way towards them. I was going to tend to Toff’s many injuries but Lily beat me to it and I watched for a moment before I made sure Vahn was alright. Even now I don’t know how well Toff was healed. But it is the second time I’ve been pushed away from healing him even if it is my job.

I cannot help but feel... pushed from this. I do understand that Lily is his fiance and she is a medic as well, of some fashion. I just cannot help but feel a little pushed out considering even Vahn had healed himself. Maybe, my healing is not needed any longer...
