Leave Internet Personalities Alone -.-
Mr. Enter, BenTheLooney, Doug Walker, Tamara Chambers, PewDiePie, JackSepticEye, AniMat, Phantom Strider, Erod, Linkara, Obscurus Lupa, Lindsay Ellis, Patrick H. Willems, Jeremy Jahns, Chris Stuckmann, Logan Paul, Jake Paul, The Fine Bros, UberHaxorNova, Alpha Jay Show, Vailskibum94, James Rolfe, and Bob Chipman. What do all these and everyone else on YouTube have in common? “They talk about movies?” No. “They make videos on YouTube?” No. “They all hate Donald Trump’s guts?” That’s not even relevant to what I’m talking about. No, what all YouTubers, and Internet personalities in general, have in common is this: 👏They👏have👏lives. You wouldn’t know that the first time you clicked on one of their videos, but each and every single one of these people that produce hours of content ever week for your amusement have lives. Some go to college (ZeRoyalViking), some are married (iHasCupquake), some have kids (MatPat from The Game/Film Theorist), and just about all of them have families or friends they care deeply about. Ergo it should go without saying that going after them in their personal lives because you have some beef with them is NOT okay. It doesn’t matter what video they made got you frustrated or disgusted. It doesn’t matter what Tweet they posted got you so triggered. It doesn’t matter if they made headlines for all the wrong reasons. They’re still people and they don’t deserve any form of harassment, doxxing, threatening, or bigotry from any one. If you have any problems with them that makes you enjoy their content less, leave a dislike, unsubscribe/unfollow them, delete your history and watch something else. But most importantly: Leave. Them. Alone -.-
SHIT JUST GOT REAL
I actually can't believe Gumball is going to end next year. Welp, you had a good run.
I saw Matpat’s recent Film Theory, Gravity Falls ISN'T OVER! (Bill Cipher LIVES!). At the end, Mat suggests that Bill and Stan might be the same people. At first, I was going to make my own theory on the Axolotl having Bill be reborn as Stan in a Bootstrap Paradox to redeem himself. But then I found that dubsdeedubs and Vailskibum94 covered that a year ago.
I find it interesting then that Bill is influencing Stan after his “death” and during the Cipher Hunt.
Now this could be a sub-conscience thing, like how Stan calls Ford “sixer”, talked about investing in gold, and said “eenie, meenie, miney, you” like Bill did. Or dubsdeedubs extra theory at the end suggesting the hunt was set up by the family to weed out Bill cultist. But what if Bill hasn’t been reborn yet (well, he technically has timeline wise but I mean past Bill hasn’t- would he even count as a past version... time travel’s confusing.)
Anyway, what if Bill knows what the Axolotl will do, so he’s trying to escape before it happens. He’s desperately trying to break the cycle, but that could have unforeseen consequences.
Season 2 looks boring to some because Star is meant to be an action/adventure show with a little bit of mystery. Sure there can be some comedy and drama but SVTFOE isn't meant to have episodes with those sitcom plots. Babysitting (Starsitting), Third Wheel (Just Friends), Starcrushed (Star's side) That's a huge change in the formula. Episodes like My New Wand and Baby feel like it was slow paced. Hey, in Starstruck, Star didn't have her wand. Only a crazy lady, Mina, and a cliched plot.
When a show uses a cliched plot, anon, it’s up to the writers to twist it into something worth watching. They have to make it funny, create an original ending, and just generally keep things interesting.
Not to mention, it’s impossible to write any story without tropes. Even the act of avoiding some tropes is a trope in and of itself. It’s very difficult, if not impossible, to write something truly original.
Even my show is not completely original. It was inspired by other fan projects. I tried to combine the short and sweet approach of Vailskibum94, and the official feel of The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel, into a podcast like Talking Rainbows Talking Puppies.
And while I’m at it, let me just say that IMO, the way the love triangle situation was handled is the best I’ve ever seen. There is no clear winner here. Star and Jackie are both great people and I would date either one of them. Marco loves them both. And they love each other. In every other love triangle, either somebody is clearly a better choice, or the person in the middle doesn’t deserve either one. And usually somebody is a jerk about it. Here, the writers respect Marco, Star, and Jackie. I trust them to do the impossible and make a good love triangle.
