Valarya was smart. For all the Leia wanted to avoid giving her credit for that, she couldn’t totally deny it. But the best part -- the part that made Valarya’s skills all worth it, was that Valarya had intense expertise in an area that Leia wasn’t sure how to approach and didn’t know much about herself. Magical healing and medicine. Something that her father had never explicitly asked her to gather intel on, but something that Leia was sure, without a doubt, would be beneficial to provide him with information on. After all, how was her father supposed to help undo magic if everyone could bounce back from whatever he tried?

But she couldn’t start of with the most intense and intricate forms of healing -- she’d never been especially chatty with Valarya, so her taking a sudden interest in that level of medicine would only leave open the chance for red flags to be raised. But for now, she could go to her about something more personal, something that was almost sure to garner sympathy.

“Valarya?” She’d found the other girl in the library, reading -- though Leia hadn’t seen the books she was reading, and so she didn’t know if it was studying, pleasure, or somewhere in between. “Hi, I know you probably were not expecting to see me, but I --” She wrinkled her nose and bit down on her lip. “Well, I think I’m due for getting my period within the next few days, and last month I had the most horribly terrible cramps, and I was wondering if you knew of any magical remedies? Advil works usually, but as back up, you know?” She offered her a small smile. “If you don’t mind, that is.” She pulled up a chair next to Valarya and sat down.
