Pizzo Cengalo : Spigolo Vinci route
We parked in Val Masino. Got up at 4:30am and walked up to the rifugio Gianetti. We had a quick cup of coffee and some morning cake and then continued on up to the base of the route. There were a few parties on it already but it wasn’t too crowded as it was a windy day. I led most of the pitches and Ruth did one or two leads. The best pitches were the crux 5+ because it was so well protected with bridging and jugs... also the later 5+ crux pitch. Although I found placing gear below the peg in it really hard as I was laybacking the crack and was placing gear blind so unfortunately lost my new green cam to the crack! The ab back down and walk back down was super simple and we used my two 50m ropes. Really superb day out and we got back down before dark so had enough time to shower and eat dinner before bed!
