FHFA Will Require Veteran Mortgage Loan Applicants to Sign an  Incomplete Loan Application

So you can appreciate and better understand why I need your assistance to help me get a very disastrous proposed change to the Mortgage Loan Application aka (URLA) Universal Residential Loan Application) reversed, please take a moment to read this article http://bit.ly/NewURLA_MortgageMedia103019 where was I was interviewed by former FHA Assistant Director Dave Stevens for MortgageMedia.com about proposed changes to this form,

G2 lead the way to successfully add a “Military Question” to the 1st Page of the Mortgage Loan Application, wherein the loan officer would be required, to ask the mortgage loan applicant, if he or she has ever served in the United States Armed Forces.  G2 advocated for this addition to the Mortgage Loan Application because, surveys of veterans, showed that over 80% of veteran loan applicants are discriminated against in the purchase of a home either in the real estate transaction side or the mortgage loan process, thus less than 12% of all veterans who secure home loans, take advantage of their VA Home Loan benefits.  The revised Mortgage Loan Application, with the “Military Question” was set to be released for use in July 2019.  

Unfortunately, when Mark Calibria, assumed the position as the new Federal Housing Finance Administration (FHFA) Director in April 2019, he chose to relocate the “Military Question” off of Page 1, down to the bottom of the form, below the signature line, effectively promoting the reality that veterans would continue to be discriminated against in the VA Loan Process, and never given the opportunity to be identified as veterans or servicemembers on active duty.

During the final week of October 2019, after reviewing proposed changes, by Mark Calibria Director of to the Mortgage Loan Application (URLA), G2 discovered that proposed changes to the Mortgage Loan Application will require/force ALL veteran loan applicant to sign an incomplete and not fully disclosed, Mortgage Loan Application form during the loan application process.

To my military family; it makes no sense for any veteran to sign off on a Mortgage Loan Document stating ‘he/she has been given full disclosure of a document’ when he/she has not been fully disclosed. I really need your assistance to help me get the “Military Service Question” moved back to its original position, on the 1st Page of the URLA and NOT BELOW Acknowledgments and Agreements signature block/line of the URLA.

I am in a fight, for our military family, with FHFA Director Calabria to relocate our “Military Question” back to Page 1 and most certainly above the signature line

While I have my entire VAREP organization working on this same project across the United States, you are our friends and I want to give you the opportunity to help me and Lori right a terrible and disastrous disservice to our Veterans, before Director Calabira mandates his changes into policy.

We MUST stop him and your URLAs will help me win this battle for our veteran and active duty families.
