i remember once when i was 5 or 6 we were drawing pictures of ourselves and i was the only one who had to use the brown crayon for my skin and i was sooo embarrassed bc all the picture book characters had light skin… representation is SO important

its so sad that even as little kids we felt ashamed of ourselves for something as simple as skin color. representation is really so important.
