Writing vampire!Dorian au be like

Brain: Many of the most powerful Tevinter Magisters are vampires and vampires are very good at blood magic.

Me: That's a good idea, what else?

Brain: Seekers are werewolves.

Me: No, that doesn't make sense.

Brain: Okay, but consider werewolf Cassandra.

Me: Well, shit.

Some of my favorite lines from the vampire!Dorian Au I am writing:

Dorian smirks, mockingly saluting him with his arm over his chest. "Yes, Lord Herald."

He chuckled and waved her concern away.  "I'm naturally pale, Seeker. Have you never met a ginger before?"

"Perhaps this isn't the right time to ask but... You are alright with this? I wouldn't want you to go back on your decision after I've turned you. That could get bloody."

Being vulnerable meant you cared about someone and caring always had gotten him hurt. He didn't need a Trevelyan shaped hole in his already damaged heart.

"A mountain fell on my head, I fell down a mineshaft, I almost bled to death, and to top it all off, I could have died of frostbite. How do you think I fucking feel?"

He knew that actions were truly made one a monster, not fangs.

Kissing Dorian reminded him of the spiced cider he drank as a child on cold winter nights, the flavor of cinnamon and cloves dancing upon his tongue. 

Maker's breath Dorian,” Warren gasped out.  “Blood magic?"

I got tagged by @johaeryslavellan so I'm gonna do the thing and it is gonna be about my vampire!Dorian au (tentatively named Sanguineous).

Rules: Five behind-the-scenes facts about a current WIP. 

It was inspired by the random thoughts "What if Dorian was a vampire" and "THIGH BITES".

Vampire puns. Vampire puns everywhere.

The first vampire in this AU turned during a botched attempt to combine blood magic and necromancy.

While the original vampire came to be due to blood magic, that isn't how it is typically spread. It's a magically induced infection transmitted via a combo of vampire venom and deadly blood loss.

The Taint can't infect vampires and someone infected can't become a vampire.

There's a title for it now! From here on out I'm calling it Sanguineous.

Thought about calling it For a Bloody Good Time Call Dorian but it didn't work for reasons.
