Vampire!Shuri Headcanons
A/N: Hi guys!!! These ideas have been brewing in my brain and it finally decided to write them at 3AM haha. Disclaimer: I am just coming back to writing and this is just something I decided to write because I felt like it so if it’s not good, I’m sorry.
Warnings: blood, fluff, angst, implied stalking, mentions of death, I think that’s it
Watches/stalks you like a hawk. She always seems to know where you are.
Her sleep schedule is messed up because she knows you sleep at night and she wants to be next to you.
The whole country knew something was wrong with Shuri after she came home from a mission looking paler and sweatier. They must assumed she was taking T’challa’s and Ramonda’s deaths a bit harder. Technically they were right
Reprograms her lighting system across the palace to be more ambient and “candle like” though she won’t admit it directly. Says it’s for “better optics and improving REM sleep patterns”. No one believes her after she accidentally hissed at a fluorescent light.
Tried to send you away because she didn’t want to hurt you She eventually realized the love she had for you wasn’t going to go away just because you were gone and she was hurting.
After the incident that turned her, she scanned herself 100000 times and kept monitoring the lack of heartbeat despite her feeling very much alive(barely)
Sometimes prays to Bast outside on her balcony at night.
Made a promise to herself that she’d never feed from you unless you allowed it. And even then, she told herself she would never fully enjoy it because she didn’t want to hurt you
One night however…things didn’t go as planned
The night was completely innocent. Your bodies tangled in the sheets of her bed, illuminated only by the moonlight and city lights, the night air slipping past the window like a secret. Your laughs filled the air as her teeth gravitated to your neck as they always do. This time however, she caught herself and recoiled as if she’d been burned:
“What’s wrong?” You asked concerned
“I can’t do this” she replied. Getting up to leave
She saw the look of despair and confusion on your face and reassured:
“It’s not you. I promise it’s not, n’kosazana. Something happened to me that night and it’s for your own protection that you stay away” she said.
“I’m not leaving you ever. What happened to you, my love?” You replied
She explained the encounter with a vampiric entity she had experienced and how it physically and mentally changed her
“So you’re a vampire, black panther, AND a Queen of a whole nation??” You gawked
“Yes.” She said, barely above a whisper
“Wow.” You breathed.
The idea of your wife, the woman you fell in love with years ago before you even knew what love was, becoming a blood-lusting hunter turned you on beyond belief. However, a part of you yearned for the life and the wife you once loved.
“It’s imperative that you stay away from me during feeding cycles as that increases the likelihood of…accidental feeding” she said, hoping you’d read in between the lines of what she was trying to say: “stay away, period” but you didn’t. You needed her, loved her, craved her, and you for damn sure weren’t giving up your relationship over this.
“No. I’ll stay right here with you.” You said, candidly
“That wasn’t a suggestion, y/n” she rebuffed
“It was to me, Shuri” you said before walking away and ending the conversation
At that point, Shuri tried like death to not hurt you. She tracked your beads and set up an automatic alert when you came within 40 feet of her during feeding cycles. She tried to make you sleep in a guest room but you pushed back. Shuri even considered designing a shock necklace for herself to decrease her cravings but none of it worked. She was hungry, in love, and wanted to consume you in every possible way.
Tried making a blood like substance that would curb her appetite. It didn’t work. She tried feeding on donated blood. Worked for a bit but eventually, people would start to question why the new Queen of Wakanda needed to have so many blood drives. She looked at you and her mouth started to water:
“Not her. Never her” she told herself
Cries suddenly sometimes when she realizes that she’s immortal and you aren’t(yet)
Is a lot harsher as Black Panther. She has such little patience and such extreme anger now more than ever.
Once almost killed a trafficker because she was starving. She didn’t see a problem with it
“What?? They were going to hurt innocent people” she would defend
“Yeah but that doesn’t give you the right to drain his blood!” You retorted
“So dramatic…” she would trail off
Completely in love with you now that you know her secret. Like embarrassingly so
When she does sleep, she sleeps wrapped around you and monitoring your breathing
If there’s a change in your breathing, she feels it like a second heartbeat
Kisses you repeatedly all the time(this was a pre-turn shuri thing though
Will literally kill anyone for even thinking about you
Watches you from the shadows and smiles(again, pre-turn shuri thing)
So extremely gentle with you it’s not even funny
