Asterverse: Batpony Lore, pt. 2

Special Dichotomy: Sanguiferous VS Omnivorous

Vampire Batponies are often much larger in comparison to their cousins, the Omnivorous Batpony. They are typically very dark colored, their membranes tinted red or pink as a result of their sanguiferous diets. Vampire Batponies, contrary to popular belief, are not cannibalistic toward their own kind. They often do feed on other species, and a vampire cattle thrall can typically last them upwards of 6 months if managed correctly, given the Vampire Batponies are not consumed by greed and hunger.

Strigoi VS Sanguiferous: What Makes a Monster?

A Strigoi is a vampire batpony who has consumed far too much blood; a threat to mundane vampire batponies and other species alike. This is also another reason that "The Ravage" happened. it was likely a result of a widespread Strigoi turning, which lead to infection, and eventually the event known as "The Ravage," in which EVERYONE suffered.

Just some expression exercises with my favorite snarky bat, Circe/Selina~

I wanted to practice more with her expressions after her cocky little smartass facade’s broken, but apparently that wasn’t going to happen besides that “uncomfortable” one. x3 Which is typical for her; she tries to hide what she perceives as her biggest weakness. Selina hates being seen as ‘frail’, and she thinks her mental condition gives off the perception that she is frail. So she endeavors to hide or only break in front of trusted colleagues when she’s about to experience an episode.  

It’s also why she’s such a tryhard in her service to Katarina. xD

Adding another bat to the ponified not-pony OC roster. xD

This is my sunshine child, Aureline DeSoto. She’s foremost a pharmaceutical expert, but over her decades as vampire, has expanded into the other sciences to become the head of her R&D departments for the two organizations she works for: Acheron and Witherfang. The two organizations are business partners and have been for a LONG time.

Aureline wasn’t supposed to be a vampire. She was chosen by her predecessor, the Liaison between the two partners, to join Witherfang employ as a mortal. But jealousy and envy are decidedly deadly, and she ended up fatally poisoned by colleagues who felt she didn’t deserve the placements she got. She only returned to further her career thanks to a hunch on the part of her predecessor; just on the flip side of existence. Also, she does wear contacts. But really mostly around mortal folk, though, for their comfort. They’re just to hide the red irises.

Not that she seemed to let her circumstances dim her utter love for pharma and science in general! She’s incredibly energetic and genuinely happy most of the time, driven mostly by the thrill of discovery. She’s been known to prattle on about this highly-caustic acid and what she’s doing to relax next week in the same sentence, without losing her enthusiasm. “I came up with this the other night trying to find a different kind of solvent. Brilliant, isn’t it? :D By the way, don’t smell that, it’ll melt your nose right off your skull! ~<3″
