I hc that bloodfruit has very thick and tough skin and that daywalkers secretly have claws that help them peel the skin. They just don't show them because it's considered "rude" and "vulgar"

Like, imagine Commander Bright scolding Nova because she has her claws out like:

"A proper lady shouldn't show her claws"

And Victor is so confused by this because it's considered normal to show your fangs as a way of solidarity in vampire culture (and as a way to threaten daywalkers).

lore and tidbits from locker diaries: zombies

vera has an unnamed cousin

there are three more canon daywalkers names: dawn, skye, and star

the high schools are called shadyside high and sunnyside high (which is, wow so original)

alien crystals can cause body swaps when broken in half and can only be reversed when the halves are fused back together

sunnyside high has a unity exchange program where the daywalkers to host the vampires at the sunnyside school

^there's also a unity day that allows the same thing (so i don't really know the difference. there's a chance that unity day celebrates the creation of the unity program...i'm just gonna go with that)

vargas has a lucky bucket hat

ray keeps a journal

rayburn has crystals called connection crystals. they light up when the wearer of a different one holds theirs. victor and nova use theirs to let the other know that they're thinking of each other

there's a popular band called the moonwalkers

ray has a 'battle bag' and inside of it are marbles (for tripping his enemies), a bunch of logs and sticks (for whacking his enemies in the head), and a photo of his mom

two canon classes are nocturnal studies and history of daylight

there's a daywalker saying that goes: "may the sun always be in your skies"

vargas regularly pretends to be a detective (trenchcoat and all) and narrates in his head while doing so, which annoys vera

lightstones cause luma lenses to malfunction and erase years' worth of a person's memories to the point where they don't know their own name (basically the daywalker version of the werewolves' moonstones making tech malfunction)

the daywalkers celebrate a gift-giving holiday called solstice day

vera keeps a toothbrush in her locker (and i wouldn't be surprised if many vampires do, ya know, 'cause of fang maintenance)

shadyside high has a dance called the fang formal

vargas and victor have a special handshake

nova and ray teach a daywalker martial arts class at shadyside high

the eldress has a pet mouse named the beast

the daywalkers have a code: if someone saves your life, you have to save theirs in return

there's such a thing as a 'cursed object' and ray is somehow able to get his hands on multiple of them

vera likes candy and keeps a jar of some in her locker

^and on a similar snacking note, victor is known for having the best locker snacks

^vargas has after-snack bonus snacks in his locker

^and one of rayburn's/shadyside's candies is bloodfruit suckers

in victor's sketchbook, he has at least two drawings of vera

vera calls the eldress, "auntie e"

^she also at one point was the eldress's favorite, but it's currently victor (vargas seems to have never been in the running)

there are dolls that can control the people they resemble (similar to most mainstream portrayals of poppet and voodoo dolls) and both vera and ray have dolls

there's a unity board that vargas nominated vera and ray for to represent the vampires and daywalkers, respectively

nova has a picture of victor in her locker and victor has pictures of nova in his

Addison: "What i understand is I'm about to pound you so hard that poor Zed's gonna be jealous!"

Victor being the innocent bystander: "Oh, can we NOT?!"

Some redesign ideas for the daywalkers and vampires because honestly the monsters in Z-O-M-B-I-E-S weren't non-human enough for me:

Daywalkers:

The golden skin one i saw as more of a healing factor. Their hair only goes to fire when they feel threatened, are aggressive or scared. Likewise, they also become covered in flames. Their tongues and claws work like vampire fangs, to help them feed off bloodfruit. Freckles are common amongst weaker daywalkers, ones more affected by the sun.

Vampires:

The floating hair and hair turning to smoke has more to do with their powers and emotions. I figured since the were living in the dark, they could use more glowing features to help them get around. Again, the glowing cracks on the skin is more of a healing factor.

My daywalker oc: Soliel!

She has a very... complicated relationship with the Eldress. Like, old woman yuri but make it angsty. She would dance to traditional songs with her community to help raise spirits in dark times and in special events at Sunnyside. She still tries to help wherever she can to help raise the spirits of her people and still dances sometimes.

Im not very good at this, so this was the best design i could do for now. Anyway, make your headcanons for her and I'll try to make them canon.
