Thanks! I think Carpe Noctem fills a very important void in fiction, which is taking vicious, bloodthirsty monsters and making them the subbiest subs around. It’s not a “despite being a monster…” thing either—becoming a vampire actively makes Izzy even weirder about needing to see Ed in a dominant role. And of course it gives actually practical reasons for Izzy to get a whipping, or to wear a collar.
It’s a fun trope reversal, basically. Almost as fun as Izzy worrying about vampirism degrading his sanity… while the human Ed is still clearly the bigger lunatic between the two of them.
