Omg all of that Flash vampire!AU stuff is the best! There really needs to be more vampire AU things. And that gifset of Len with the candles... All I can picture now is him as a vampire. I need it.

I decided to look through my old unfulfilled prompts to seeif I could find anything for Halloween, since I am just not getting anywherewith my other fic ideas right now, probably because I’m distracted by NaNostarting tomorrow.

So have some vampire/werewolf AU fun, influenced by Underworld.

Humanity lives without the knowledge of the supernatural secretlyrunning every aspect of their lives. Every major city is run by some supernaturalgroup or another. Central City is run by vampires, particularly the vampireEobard Thawne.

Other supernatural creatures are treated like lower class citizenswithin the borders of Central, often taken to Thawne as presents to beenslaved, or even killed on sight, especially werewolves, which Thawne considersan affront to his senses.

Thawne is obsessed with a particular line of vampires thathas recently died off since the descendants are all human. He has been lookingforward to claiming the last of that line – Barry Allen – as his own, but alowly werewolf attack beat him to it.

Thawne orders his lackeys to collect Barry while he’s stillin the midst of his first transformation. Barry tries to fight them off, andends up injured, dying, not healing fast enough since the full moon is onlyjust rising and he can barely control himself.

Then his caravan is attacked by the Rogues, a group of creaturesled by the vampire Leonard Snart who doesn’t believe in Thawne’s bigotry,especially since his best friend Mick is a werewolf.

Finding Barry near death, not realizing who he is, Snartdecides to risk something that will almost surely kill the kid, but it’s theonly option left. He bites him and feeds him a bit of his blood. Barry is stilltransforming for the first time, there’s always a chance…

And then the unimaginable happens, because Barry does indeedsurvive, neither wolf nor vampire but something dark and beautiful in between.

Thawne wants Barry more than ever once he hears of this, butLen isn’t about to give him up. Not after seeing the way the boy’s eyesshimmered yellow as he struggled to transform through his wounded state, lookingat Len pleadingly for help.

That young face, the long limbs, Len would have yearned forsuch a human mark on a dark night while feeding, would have welcomed such alovely young werewolf into his troupe, but in the moment he’d wanted more—he’dwanted to save him, and Len had never been so altruistic before, usuallystealing to get by, running his own streets as best he could, plotting againstThawne, but mostly just trying to survive.

He sank his fangs into the boy’s neck and was amazed thatthe blood didn’t taste rancid from coming death, or his changed state as analmost werewolf. It tasted sweet and addictive, enough that Len almost didn’tstop in time to in turn feed the kid some of his own blood.

The boy drank greedily but soon cringed, and convulsed, andpassed out. But he didn’t die, and when Len saw that he was still breathing, hecarried him back to his safehouse.

His fellows warned him that this was a mistake if Thawne’smen had been the ones bringing the kid in, but Len didn’t care. Even his sisterseemed wary, but Len was entranced. When the kid came to, he screamed as a newtransformation began to claim him, his wounds all healed now, but maybe thechange would be enough to kill him after all. The moon was still full outside, andLen’s blood was in his veins. His body seemed confused as to how to reform,what shape to take.

In the end, Len could do nothing but stand back and waituntil the kid stood on trembling legs, staring at himself in disbelief, hisskin a deep black with the barest hint of red, his hair just as dark, earspointed, his hands and feet claws though not as large as a werewolf’s. His eyesstill glowed that beautiful yellow, slit now, his mouth filled with delicate fangsmore like a vampire.

He was ethereal.

He looked at Len with wide eyes, his voice almostreverberating as he asked, “What am I?”

“Something new,” Len said. “I won’t hurt you. You were humanbefore all this, weren’t you? Didn’t even know about the rest of us?”

“Y-You’re a vampire?”

“I am. And you are under my protection.”

Barry can’t feed from normal humans, he needs the blood ofother supernatural creatures to sustain him, as well as normal food, though hecan survive well enough eating large portions and taking a small amount ofblood from Len each night.

In turn, Len can feed from Barry, and receive a boost inpower when he does. Their relationship develops slowly as they avoid Thawne andwork to find a way to bring him down before he captures Barry or kills him.Normally, Barry just looked like a regular human, but he learns to transform atwill, becoming his dark blood-red self.

When he and Len first make love, Barry changes form withinhis passion and worries what Len might think, but Len loves it. He loves iteven more when Barry bites him, and Len bites him back, and they losethemselves in each other.

Thawne is willing to turn the city upside down to reclaimBarry – who’s his, damn it, that power belongs to him, because he knew Barry’sline was powerful, but he didn’t know it was capable of THIS, and he wants thatfor himself. In the end though, with the sheer amount of creatures Len and Barrypull to their side, Thawne doesn’t stand a chance.

When Barry and Len defeat him, they take over runningCentral City, and make it a place where any creature is welcome.
