Underworld AU Part 1

For the people who are curious, here's some more infos about my AU (and I'm open to suggestion about how I can call it, I have like zero idea about other it🤣)

Okay, so in my AU, the underworld is divided in 9 realms. Each realm have their own Lord or Lady, who look after their realms. The realms are a bit of everything : forest, mountain, a sea and other things. (If you are interested I can give y'all more infos about the different realms 😂).

And the soul of dead people would go from realm to realm, making peace with themselves before going through the last realm that lead to reincarnation. (It's heavily inspired of korean mythology and the differents realm of punishment, but I admit, my poor heart couldn't stomach so much suffering, so I twist things to make it more about healing and forgiving oneself, and also punishment is needed, but never eternal, the soul would also end up reincarnated.

Okay, so in this Underworld, there was a soul that was more cunning than others. Yeah, it's Gwi-ma's, but at that time he wasn't called like that. Anyway, that soul discovered that if he get to absorb soul energy (that I called haegsim) before they are reincarnated, he got to grew more powerful. He managed to collect a lot of soul by himself, until he grew powerful enough to create his own little pocket of dimension, his kind of Tenth realm. And that's the demon realm that we know in the movie, with the wastlands and the altars and everything.

Because of that, he disturbed the balance of the world and underworld, and that created a big mess in the 9 Realms. Lot of messes. Which gave Gwi-ma the opportunity to grow even more powerful, getting to learn how to project his consciousness in the Overworld (aka the human one), learning how to tempt and make deals with human to get their souls, getting even more powerful, and then sending those new corrupted Jeongsun Saja getting souls for him. Souls that, once digested, becomes corrupted dokkaebis, water demons (that are actually spirits of people who died by drowning, but corrupted), and other kind of 'demons'.

There's more to all that, I really tried to be throughout, so if you are interested, just tell me and I'll be happy to reveal more 🥰.

Finally, a last figure floated down more gently than the rest. Rumi’s eyes widened before she broke into a relieved smile as Bobby touched the ground, blinking in confusion.

The three girls rushed to help him stand, dusting him off as if he had actually fallen into dirt. Bobby looked around, blinking once. Twice.

“Is this another of your tricks, girls? Because if it is, that is definitely going on the budget report.”

Zoey groaned loudly, dragging her hands down her face. “We’re literally falling from the sky into some kind of ghost-theater dimension and you’re thinking of the budget report?!”

“Of course I am,” Bobby said seriously. “Stage effects like this aren’t cheap.”

Even Mystery lifted his head slightly at that. “…Is he for real?”

“Yup,” Rumi said fondly, pulling Bobby to her side. “That’s our Bobby.”

Bobby turned, finally noticing Celine and the boys. His expression lit up immediately. “Oh! Celine! And the Saja Boys! Pleasure to officially meet you. I actually have some ideas about potential collaborations between HUNTR/X and your group—”

“Bobby,” Rumi chuckled, tugging him away from where the Saja Boys were straightening themselves, “now’s not the time.”

The air grew still again, their voices echoing strangely in the vast chamber. For a moment, no one moved.

“…Did we really just got kidnapped by a theater?” Zoey muttered, voice sharp in the stillness, like she just really realized what happened.
