Isn't it fun that in a Fantasy AU, Jason can be a werewolf bc he's literally raised by the wolves and Nico would be a vampire thanks to all his dark goth repertoire; AT THE SAME TIME Nico could also be a werewolf since Lycaon clawed him once, and Jason can totally be a hot vampire bc he can fly? These two are just so much fun.

is there a greek equivalent of vampires... bc i really want vampire nico but not in an alternate setting... i think it would be so poetic if hades went through his whole “i want at least one of my children to be happy” spiel and nico just spits out “father, i am already dead and you didn’t even notice. there’s no saving me now.” like hades’ whole reason he cares for nico is because he just wants him to stay alive, but nico would already be dead.

like the whole thing would be amazing. the religious trauma from being “damned to hell” bc he’s gay and a vampire? falling in love with the child of THE SUN??? having to stay in the shadows not because he wants to, but because being in the sun physically hurts?

It might not be the last place, but of all the places Nico di Angelo had expected to find true love, a veterinarian would have ended up pretty low on that list. He was a ninety-six years old immortal vampire and he had dreamed of finding his one true love so often.

Then again, he had also never imagined the circumstances quite like this either. After all, vampires in general were known for their seductive nature, their natural charms. Nico had imagined he would be wearing a well-cut, expensive suit, perhaps be holding a glass of red wine, smiling over the rim of the glass at whoever had caught his attention. There would be banter and laughter and dancing.

He hadn't imagined – could not have possibly imagined – being burritoed into a fuzzy, pink blanket with a cutesy strawberry print on it. Who would? It wasn't even the cool Batman blanket!

And neither had he imagined his true love to have a wet nose and hair everywhere, because he was a wolf. A fluffy, black wolf, but with bright, green eyes. A cute, fluffy, black wolf, but still a wolf.

“Aren't you the cutest, fluffiest little bat-rrito?”

Which, also not necessarily helpful in the first impressions department. When the vet was cooing over how cute your bat-form was. It was one of those things Nico endured quietly because it was part of the package deal of going to the vet. And he had it coming, because he had broken his wing being careless on his midnight flight. Still, had he known this was the moment he would meet his true love, he... would have re-evaluated some life-choices. As it was, he was being cooed at when someone brought a hurt wolf in and the wolf snorted as he noticed the bat-burrito. Nico immediately turned toward the wolf and narrowed his eyes at him, glaring. He could smell that this wasn't just a regular wolf, he could smell that this was a werewolf – that it was an omega.

I've been a bit bummed out that my phone/internet/health issues hit last month when I was in the middle of the TransMages Week posting, so I've decided to go ahead and still post my contributions even though it's not in the official event anymore. <3

DAY FOUR - domestic, soul mate

Sound was coming from seemingly every inch of the house that wasn't the bedroom and Fiona grumbled unhappily. Why the fuck did those two blasted Mages have to be early risers? Why couldn't they sleep in for once and give her some much deserved sleep?! Peeking one eye open, she could see the stream of light from under the door and see shadows moving back and forth.

Grumbling, she buried her head under the covers for a few more minutes of relief but then Nickel's off-key voice began singing along with the radio and she gave up any hopes of more rest. Stealing one of Ebb's sweaters, she stumbled out into the kitchen and collapsed into a seat near the coffee machine.

"Oh, good mornin' doll," Ebb greeted before leaning over and planting a kiss on her cheek. "What'cha doing up so early?"

"Are you serious?" she growled. "Nico sounds like a dyin' cat."

"Better than yer wailin'," the man laughed as he pushed her cup of tea over.

There was a bit of color to his ashen cheeks and she was glad that he had already fed. It still made her uncomfortable to see that happen, even if she would die before admitting it. Ebb gave her a wobbly and knowing smile and she rolled her eyes.

"How're ya feeling this mornin'?" she asked instead, hoping to divert the attention. "Still swollen and itchy? Or has the medicine helped?"

Ebb automatically brought a hand up to her chest before wincing and laughing at herself. She had decided to go to a Normal doctor for the procedure as there wasn't any Mage in the area that would have been willing to do it.

"It's still sore, but I can pick up the kids again," she chirped happily.

"An' I'm glad of it," Nico huffed. "I hate holdin' those things." He brushed off his t-shirt and snug jeans at just the memory.

Fiona brushed the back of her hand against her partner's soft stomach and grinned softly. "Can't wait to get my hand on those knockers. They already look so good."

Ebb blushed and ducked her head with a pleased grin while Nico made a gagging sound.

"Aye, fuck off," Ebb muttered before giving her brother the stink eye.

"As the younger brother, it's my job ta take the piss," Nico shot back shamelessly. "No one else will."

"We have four other younger siblings for that," Ebb laughed.

Fiona tuned out the arguing twins and took a long drink of the warm tea. The scene playing out was one that she had seen a thousand times already, having been best mates with these two through school. It was almost sickeningly domestic, something that she thought that she would never learn to enjoy. Natasha was the domestic one in the family, happy to be with that bore Malcolm and thrilled to have a little one.

There was a flash of fangs as Nico growled in annoyance at his sister, and Fiona felt her stomach drop. The Coven didn't know about him yet, and she was worried about what would happen when they did. She would have probably turned him in to them the moment she found out that he had gone through with such a stupid idea except that Ebb had begged her not too. It was difficult, and there was a feeling of dread that hung over her head. Nico didn't exactly act like everything she had read about vampires, but he was still dangerous.

Her own hand brushed against the scar just above her collarbone, the discomforting reminder that Nico was more to her than just a friend. They had laughed about it as teenagers, poor dark-skinned Fiona gaining scars and sharing injuries with two soulmates rather than the typical one, but this one was no joking matter. This one could get her killed if other Mages got the wrong impression and thought that she wore the teeth of a monster.

The softness she had gained with Ebb this morning dripped away. Fiona felt the hardening in her spirit and glanced up over the rim of her cup. They couldn't stay hidden away forever, playing at normalcy with a rescue goat and her two kids. A reckoning was coming. The three of them couldn't keep breaking the natural order of things and not expect it to catch up with them at some point.

Icy blue eyes caught her grey ones, and Fiona wished that she could go back to sleep and never wake up to the reality coming their way.
