I had a thought. It had the zoomies. I lost the thought.
Working on a draft in my phone notes I found this titled only Vampire Courting. I'll just pop it here for now.
I once cursed the shadows as they held me in the chill of their embrace but now I find myself begging for hers to fall on me. I find even her coldest moments warmer than the sun.
I would plead the star away if only it meant she would be my light.
Each glance has me begging with a god I no longer believe in for another, and yet I find myself only in her shadow, who's chill I embrace as if it were a summer's day.
I'm writing again for the first time in forever
So I started a crazy little project here on Tumblr called Tristan Clare. She's a vampire born in 1980, struggling to enjoy life while trying to make ends meet like the rest of us. Except she has to hide her vampire status while she's at it.
My real life is real lifey lately (even without the existential dread of *waves hands at everything*) so working on writing a *book* right now is tooooo much. But Tristan? She's so fucking fun to write. And this is the most inspired I've felt in a long ass time, so I'm rolling with it. She'd love a follow but no pressure :)
drinking my own blood: need to throw up so gross so vile my stomach feels terrible
drinking someone else’s blood: so delicious love this metallic wine I need more I need this to live
Part One: How I Was Made
It was the Christmas of 1924. I was invited to a party, a party where the mansion was as tall as everyone's ego. It was being held by some rich country folk who were new to the city. The family was enormous, with six siblings that claimed they moved for a new beginning. They invited whole surrounding neighborhoods. The foods were intricate, and the drinks were beautiful. By the time midnight rolled around everyone had left or found a couch to pass out on. Everyone, it seemed, except for me. I found myself drinking wine at a huge table, talking to some gentlemen about the moon of all things.
