Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)  dir: Jim Jarmusch

Tangier and Detroit form the two central locales of this existentialist work from Jarmusch.

Jarmusch has this wonderful signature and knack for creating global locales/settings for his idiosyncratic characters and stories. A very humanistic and philosophical perspective in his work. 

Externally - noticeable is how both Adam and Eve live in rougher neighborhoods. 

Interconnected - the couple’s living space interior defines and expresses their personality and interests.  

Notice the two images of long lost movie theaters: Mauritania Cinemas and Cine Alcazar.

A most romantic film throughout, Eve shows her love and connectivity to Adam with constant physical contact, often revealed in pensive poses. Jarmusch wonderfully composes the couple, using nonverbal communication and intimate proxemic pattern to speak volumes of unspoken prose as seen below:
