Of all the people he’s kissed, Jonathan was the only one that made Ethan wish he had a beating heart. Ethan has never stepped foot inside of a church - it’s not that he can’t, as the lore of his kind says - it’s merely because he never saw the point. He was not religious, in the usual sense that is. The only thing Ethan ever believed in was the laws of the society, and even that he’s lost faith in. But if he wasn’t religious then, what made him enter the house of God for the first time that day? 

The vampire sat in the very back of the church. With his keen hearing, it didn’t matter if the priest was whispering the Gospel, he could still hear him. His dark eyes were trained on the preacher man, following his every move, staring at him and him only. He was the reason Ethan was here.

After the service was done and the attendees left, Ethan stayed behind. He walked down the aisle, hands in pockets, down to where the priest was gathering the items he had used in the mass. ‘’That was a beautiful service,’’ he spoke, stopping at the very first pew. He couldn’t help but grin when the priest turned and they met face to face.
