After getting his daughter back from his mother-in-law -- no easy feat, he fast found out -- X cradles her carefully and savours the stillness of it being just the three of them again.
Something he knew wouldn't last long once his own mother arrived like a bat out of hell.
( Or worse, a new grandmother out of Houston. )
He moves with her to the bed his wife occupied, still in a state of amazement at how well Van had done and that she was finally here.
"Do you think she looks like me?" He asks in a soft tone, solely so he could spend another spell just looking at her.
Liam and Vera hadn't been able to come to an agreement on it with Liam saying she was the spit of him while Vera had insisted she was the double of Van as a newborn.
"I know you look like your name, yes you do, Rowan."
X hadn't been sure what they would have done if she hadn't given the fact it had taken them months to find a girl's name they both liked and that was why his next words were spoken hesitantly.
"But we might have to revisit those middle name options."
