Alex Boniello said this in response to Charlotte St. Martin’s (President of The Broadway League) remarks about how understudies “aren’t as efficient in delivering the roles we the role as the lead is.”

Alex said it perfectly. Understudies are the most versatile and hard working amongst us. Without understudies, swings, covers, and standbys, Broadway would collapse. They are the backbone of Broadway, and live theatre. The Swingdom Kingdom deserves all the love and respect!
