Thank you for asking!! 1. If someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?Read: Another Hazy May (it counts), Harry Potter, TIF, (can you tell I haven’t read a lot of books since I was like… 11). Also this poem by Sappho “He seems to me, that one, equal to the gods,The man fixed there, who sits opposite youAnd hears close by your sweet voiceAnd delightful laugh, which onceShook the soul in my breast. (..)” It goes on after this but it always resonated with me and I could almost recite it after the first time we’d translated it haha, my teacher was happy. But see, I think in the Ancient Greek it’s written it becomes apparent the person with the sweet voice is a girl, whereas it starts as a typical Straight poem (that man is like a god blabla is it his chiseled abs? but NO it’s bc he’s talking to the girl I like)

Watch: I have no clue? Some films I loved growing up are Spirit: stallion of the cimarron, lilo and stitch, the king’s speech, the lion king, harry potter… I also love Star Trek: Beyond. The king’s speech is in there bc I remember it being the first “grown up movie” that actually touched me, I think. the turnover of fans is such a huge point! i didn’t even consider that. but it makes sense, like you google fic recs and poke around and you’re done with it. i think there’s a lot of fic entitlement in the fandom in general too, so yeah, not much love shown.

there is a huge amount of entitlement, for sure. demands for another escapade aren’t going to work out well when you’re missing all the amazing stuff being posted daily, or if you go back in the archives and dig a little.

ohhhh my gosh yes. fic writers helping other fic writers is the reason there are so many people even willing to give writing a shot. and once you’ve written something yourself, you understand why people get frustrated at the lack of attention for their stuff.

it is so weird! it’s literally clicking a little heart when you get to the bottom of the page, and it takes no time at all. it’s almost like people reserve their kudos for their absolute favorites, but that’s what i always assumed bookmarking is for? idk, man.

i read the sterek fic with the most kudos and genuinely got to the bottom of the page and was like... this is a one-shot? that’s it? and again, don’t get me wrong, i think it was a good story, but comparatively? i just don’t see how people in this fandom don’t realize how amazing our writers are.

isn’t that wild? we have to wait for people to rec our fics before we know if people like them. and that’s usually where the best comments are, too, like if a fic reccer actually goes through and says what they like about it. it’s sad :( and i know @floralrry has talked about this a lot, but i think that’s why there’s such a huge mentality in this fandom for self-promotion, because if we don’t push our stuff out there, it doesn’t get seen.

Harry apologizes as he bumps into a group of girls, the floors sticky and the music too loud. He tries not to think about the past few weeks, about blue eyes and soft hands and knobby ankles and a devious smile. He takes a seat at the end of the bar, shaking his mind free of Louis until suddenly, he’s right there next to him, just five seats away, his side profile stubbly and one that Harry would recognize anywhere.

He blinks a few times, like it’s a mirage, and his heart is somehow both completely stopped and simultaneously threatening to beat out of his chest, bruising. He watches as Louis leans back in his seat, tipping his head in laughter, his throat bobbing as he swallows. Niall, sat beside Louis, notices Harry first, his eyes going wide, cheeks heating up. Harry just shakes his head, doesn’t want to draw attention to himself, doesn’t think he can actually speak, anyway.

He tries to look away, to search for Liam amongst the crowd, to stop staring directly at Louis, but his hands are sweating and he thinks his eyes are watering and he swears he hasn’t blinked in a full three minutes now. He can’t hear much over the rushing in his ears.

Why is he here. What in God’s name is he fucking doing here.
