Fingerprint Card #222, 3x4”, 1994-ongoing. Another from an ongoing series of work combining multiple alternative photographic processes exposed over each other with alternating layers protected by shellac. This series, titled Fingerprint Cards, was sparked by the discovery of a fingerprint-making-kit in a junk shop in San Francisco. The kit included powder, feather brushes, and dried up ink, but more importantly a stack of cards. The cards were for the detective to “mark” down anything from the crime scene and attach evidence and fingerprints immediately from the scene to be filed in his report. The ensuing art work is comprised of historical, and fictionalized, and original film noir images reproduced or shot on film with my vintage 4 x 5 press camera. #collage #art #graflex #speedgraphic #alternativeprocess #alternativeprocessphotography #mixedmedia #photographicarts #cyanotype #vandykebrownprint #liquidlight #altprocessphotography #artistsoninstagram #newenglandartist #americanartist #bostonartist (at Cohasset, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQqtIuksqBe/?utm_medium=tumblr
