Hi Jackal! I've been trying to figure out good places to find taxidermy open-mouth bases, and I wanted to ask if you had any recommendations. I've tried to do some searching but came back either empty-handed or with "far fancier than needed" hand-painted mouths. Honestly, anything on bases and forms would be super helpful.
When you say open-mouth bases do you mean ones without the jaw sets? Most open-mouth forms and rug forms will come with jaws pre-set in the form or jaw sets that are separate from the form. But you can also get rug shells that have filled mouths like this:
It's filled with polyfoam so it can be sanded/carved/hotwired out of the mouth if you're wanting to do something custom. Search for either "taxidermy rug shells" or "taxidermy rug forms" and it should come up with a few options depending on what you need :>
