Traveling to Port Vila today is much easier. Everyone in Melanesia's easternmost and easternmost parts can travel easily now.
There is a direct flight every Saturday from Port Moresby to Port Vila. The return direct flight is on every Sunday direct flight from Port Vila to Port Moresby.
This means that anyone from Manokwari, Wameba, Jayapura, or Timika in West Papua can now fly to Jayapura or Port Numbay and then travel on land or by car ti Wutung.
The drive from Jayapura to Wutung takes 2 hours. Then from Wutung to Vanimo will take almost 2 hours again. Thus it needs minimum 3 hours, maximum 5 hours.
From Vanimo there is a direct flight to Port Moresby everyday.
