sorry guys i’m gonna cornplate vanlot bestfriendism for a second here. s2 e5 when tai and shauna go missing and they all start yelling for them? van is panicking. like really, truly panicking. she’s hyperventilating like crazy, she’s shaking. clutching at her shawl. we never see her like this. lottie IMMEDIATELY pulls her out of this state. “van. what do you see?” not only is this her spiritual practices influencing the emotional states of the members, but it’s a real-life grounding technique. lottie can very quickly recognize when van is panicking, and immediately knows how to rectify it. i think s1 and even early s2 lottie just cares so deeply about the team and is so gentle to all of them but this is a specific instance that i really like :)

The disappearance of vanlot in s3 bugs me

Other than Laura Lee, Van was the first person Lottie opened up to about her visions, and Van became one of her main supporters/followers. After her near death experience, Van was also one of the main believers in It.

Sooo... what happened in s3? Just because Lottie stepped away from leadership, Van stopped caring?

It's odd, I would have to skim to be sure but I don't think there's a single significant Lottie & Van interaction in s3.
