In Urban Environments, There’s Really No Shortage of Safe Drinking Water...
But what do you do if you don’t have anything to carry it in?
Summer is just around the corner, and staying hydrated while out and about is critically important. Whether you’re at your kid’s soccer game (where the water fountain is a quarter of a mile away near the parking lot), or doing a day hike, I have found that having collapsible water bottles is the best way to ensure that you have a way to transport water anywhere, yet can be folded down so they don’t take up much room or add much weight to your everyday carry.
It’s true for the most part, that you could just go into a gas station and buy what you need, but there’s always that time when you are caught without a way to carry the water, even though you might have access to it right then.
I like the Vapur Element Collapsible Water Bottles (700mL & 1 liter) myself, but it doesn’t matter too much. Get ones that fit your needs. Just make sure that you can drink from them with one hand (the 32oz Sawyer Water pouches are horrible for one fisting).
