Henoch-Schonlein Purpura causes inflammation and bleeding in the SMALL blood vessels in:
Skin
Joints
Intestine
Kidneys
Purpura: reddish-purplish rash, typically on the lower extremities (buttocks, legs, and feet).
Manifests w/pain and swelling at the joints
Manifests w/abdominal pain and nausea
Proteinuria or Hematuria (protein or blood in the urine)
Demographic
Most common in pediatrics (children 2 ~ 6 years old).
Morbidity
Mostly related to kidney damage.
