Study Blog
It’s my last study day. Tomorrow I may do some flashcards in the early morning but it will not be all day like I have been going. The day after that is boards day
2 days until boards
Listened to a couple more of Dirty Medicine’s Highest Yield videos
Focused on my flashcard set that I made from First Aid with the goal on being aware of the conditions I don’t know well and hopefully being able to identify important connections between them and recognize them on my exam
How the rest of my day went
I am strongly second guessing myself but it’s too late for my to back out
I ate lots of healthy nutritious food today and I’ll do the same tomorrow to have a well nourished brain
Grounded myself and meditated
Studied while my SO watched Beetlejuice next to me and I passively absorbed it
Full moon so I did some witchy stuff
YA GIRL PASSED HER BOARDS WHOOP WHOOP!
And I somehow got 100% of the psychiatry questions right? Even though my psych rotation was a full year before taking the exam?
Omg so much relief! The odds of me getting a residency have not been smashed to pieces! Onward!

yo medblr I know there’s already a lot happening right now but can we talk about what’s going on with Step 2 CS/COMLEX PE? COVID19 has really changed things up.
As I understand it, CS is going virtual for this year.
COMLEX PE is still set to happen in person, and originally was going to stay on schedule to start in July. Then I read they are thinking about delaying it until the fall.
Well, you guys have probably put the pieces together already but here’s the problem:
-PE is only done in two cities
-In most cases, a passing mark is used as a gatekeeper for getting residency interviews
-Even on a regular July schedule, only a limited number of slots are available
Students have been expressing concern to me about this shitstorm of circumstances and how it’s going to impact their match. Meanwhile, the NBOME has been providing very little in the way of updates and transparency. This test is $1300 per student per attempt AND plays a factor in their career prospects.
DOs, I think we should be hassling the NBOME and maybe the AOA. A few people started doing this on IG and the NBOME locked down their posts/deleted comments. Students deserve so much better.
For all of us, I think we should also ask our PDs how they might accounting for this issue during the application period, because students have no idea what they might expect and frankly neither do I.
Keep calm and study on. #FridayFunny #TheBestMedicine
