I adore the fact that Mana and Atem are childhood friends, and those two surely got into trouble together in their childhood. It is canon in the manga that both of them had the habit of hiding in the vases all around the palace, and I just like the idea that those two caused so much trouble for the Pharaoh and the former priests. It gives you the idea that Atem was more than a pharaoh and who he was as a person.

What other Yugioh ships do you like?

Only small handful of others really. Mostly ones I've had since I was a kid, I don't really delve much into shipping like I used to, though the ships I do ship I ship hard lolol

I've also only watched DM, GX, and 5Ds so there's that too on the quantity subject.

I've always been a champion of Yugi and Téa, peachshipping champion since day 1 baby I love them, the childhood friends to lovers angle is on of my favorites and I mean, look at Téa's duel with Crump in the virtual world and her and Yugi in that and him giving her his jacket cuz she's cold after that before they find Joey even though he's also freezing his ass off, they're just so sweet with each other 😭

I'm also a fan of Tristan and Serenity, when they're older. Like maybe they get together in their early 20's or something because she definately likes him back, but she's a little young. She's not that much younger than them, but still. When they're both older, super cute together. But also conversely to this......... I'm a massive chaseshipper.... I love Tristan and Duke.... I want them to kiss... I'm just saying, Duke only started showing interest in Serenity after Tristan made it clear he liked her from my recollection. He was just trying to make Tristan jealous and get his attention. That's my delusion and I'm sticking to it. Plus they are always getting pushed together in groups and they've slept up against each other more than once.... I'm so delusional right now it hurts akskksks

And when I was a kid I loved Atem and Mana. I loved the idea of them. It's one that's a really low-key ship for me I don't have any particularly strong opinions or stance about it but I'll probably take it with me to the grave regardless.

I've been screamed at for shipping Yugi and Atem with Téa and Mana and not each other when I never even cared much for that ship anyway I just don't interpret their relationship as romantic, so yeah. That turned me completely off of that ship I just wanna say. Also why I don't really engage with the DM side of the fandom anymore, especially when we're talking about shipping.

I used to be a fan of Joey and Mai as a ship when I was a kid, but not as much these days. I mean, if she wasn't like 10 years older than him, that would be one thing. But she is, so that kinda wrecks it when he's not an adult as well... y'know..? Even then, 10 years is a bit too big of a gap for me regardless haha

In GX I really only ship spiritshipping and stormshipping. I mean, Jaden and Jesse was the only ship I really shipped for a while.... then my third eye opened and now Chazz and Atticus have my entire heart and are now my entire creative brand mostly so akskkskslzlzl

I also like the idea of Bastion and Tania, but I feel like I need more information about her before I can commit to shipping them or not. Like... I don't know how old she is, you know? That makes me hesitate a little bit haha

The ship in 5Ds I like the most is Jack and Carly, bar none. Scoopshipping supremacy is my middle name! I shipped them before I even watched then show, dude. I watched it because of them. And they did not disappoint....... until the writers took their relationship out back and shot it by basically pretending it didn't exist in the 2nd half but shhhhhhhhhhhh ignore that!!! The best het ship in the original trilogy of shows argue with the wall.

Also a big fan of Yusei and Akiza, but like with Tristan hilarious cuz Tristan and Yusei are both voiced by Greg Abbey 🤣 I also ship the fuck out of Yusei and Bruno. I have cried thinking about them. Jack and Carly and Yusei and Bruno have made me sob profusely.

Also shoutout to Trudge and Mina! She doesn't deserve him with all her Jack bullshit but dammit love it anyway!

So yeah, those are the only ships I personally ship or I guess have shipped in the past *cough* Joey and Mai *cough* . Just a small handful really, like I said. Never been a massive shipper by way of quantity. I latch onto things too hard to have a billion and 1 anyway 😂😂😂

Hi, hello, I am still alive

Surprise-surprise! :D

As hinted in my previous post, I'm in the middle of doing a quick rundown of what is and isn't working on the original yolasite host, and determining which links are dead and which links are still active, what's salvageable and what's not. Lotta dead link stuff. D:

In the meantime, I'm sharing this fun screenshot that the official Yu-Gi-Oh! channel on YouTube used for doing livestreams of show re-runs. (And also dropping some ye olde Yu-Gi-Oh! shipping history on y'all in the process).

Yep, the official channel put these two together as their thumbnail image. I think that's saying something. :3

Now for the ye olde Yu-Gi-Oh! shipping history:

Nowdays, the term "servantshipping" (Yami Yugi x DMG) gets associated with "vaseshipping" (Atem x Mana). Often times, "vaseshipping" was used if the setting was ancient Egypt specifically, and "servantshipping" was used if the setting was modern-day/current times.

But back then, there was a very distinct separation between Atem and Yami Yugi, as well as Mana and Dark Magician Girl.

The point being, at some point, "Atem x Dark Magician Girl" and "Yami Yugi x Mana" were also considered separate ships. Oddly, these never got their own ship names largely due to the shippins's rarity - though some fans have tried, it just didn't stick and for the life of me, I cannot remember the suggested names.

What I do remember is that whenever fanart or fanfiction popped up, it revolved around time-travel (such as Dark Magician Girl going back into the past to change history, or Mana jumping into the future).

Anyway, thought I'd share this little piece of obscure Yu-Gi-Oh! history before it gets truly lost to the sands of internet time.

How many vaseshipping accounts are there on tumblr nowadays? I barely see them!

I’m not super sure I’m the right person you should be asking this. I am hardly on the app since Uni is a pain but I’ll answer as best as I can.

From what I’ve seen on my time on Tumblr is that @vaseshipghost is still active but they’re mainly Yugioh (with occasional Vaseshipping) content! Also @marbere occasionally posts Vaseshipping content in English & Spanish (plus she’s the author of incredible Vaseshipping fanfics)!

@askvaseshipping just came back from a long hiatus. So HOOORAY for that!

@merej-et is the OG Vaseshipper in the clurb. (lol in the clurb we all fam) They created an entire Vaseshipping website in the early to late 2000’s. However they’re not as active anymore. Occasional reblogs once in a while. But they did address this specific question of yours.

Are you still active? D: Both yes and no. Interest in vaseshipping started around 2005-2006, when the "Dawn of the Duel" season was finish

@vaseshippingformywholelive was very active on this app for a long time however their last activity was seven months ago so 💔

Hopefully they come back.

I try to be active on my end but Grad school is absolutely destroying me. It’s like I can’t even get a day off to just relax. Start of pandemic was stressful (obviously for everyone) as all hell (I work in a hospital), I found my old yugioh deck, wondered what was going on with it these days, and found the community STILL making fan content of the DM series, which was awesome. It gave me an escape that I'm still dependant on throughout life's challenges.

I would love to contribute myself, but I'm not able to just yet.

"Happy Birthday atem!!!~", mana yelled hugging the pharao tightly. She leaned in and whispered in his ear, "Don't go to sleep early tonight, I'll come and give you your present~". With that mana leaned away, let go of atem and looked at him with a teasing smirk. "Bye for now my pharao~", mana said in a polite manner and waved at the guards, happily walking away.

The magican came as promised and climbed up over the balcony, entering atems bed chambers. "Atem? Oh! Lucky me, so you are still awake!", mana smiled, running towards him and giggeled. She couldn't help it. Feeling pure happiness as soon as she sees him. Truth be told she missed him all day and couldn't wait for this moment to come.

"Are you ready for your present? If you are.. come and follow me! We have somewhere to be~", mana held her hand out to him and waited for his answer, "eh.. also please don't ask how I made it possible. I made suuuper sure that isn't dangerous at all! And you'll be save all the way!!!", mana smiled with a bright grin as she walked him out of the palace to some horses. "It isn't far from here, it's place I found by myself and I wanted to show it to you", mana explained while climbing onto her horse, then holding her hand out for the pharao. "D-Don't look at me like that.. Let me be your knight in shining amor for tonight! Sit behind me!", the magican blushed as she looked away from his eyes. The gaze seemed to heated. Mana didn't know how to act at the current moment. She wondered if this was to much..

"We are here!! Wait! Wait! Sit, don't get up yet!", mana held atem back in panic. After all she had this all so well planed and organized. It would be sad if it didn't work out well. So mana jumped quickly down from the horse and turned around, holding her hand out towards him, "May I?", she smiled gently at him.

"Don't worry what I want to show you is just up ahead!", mana said while she walked through a gate, it was covered in beautiful flowers and plants. Walking inside, there was a small, yet so breathtaking garden. With a big fountain in the middle. A cute swing hung down from the trees and roses, flowers, plants everywhere. Some butterflys and fireflys flew in the air, setting the right mood. While walking through the middle of it, there was a table, with two seats. One looking like a throne while the other looked like a normal chair. Their names were written on them.

"Please sit down atem~", mana smiled while she pointed towards the throne. "I made this for both of us. I'm not best cook so I mostly just brought some fruits and chocolate.. I still hope you'll enjoy it~". With that the magican snipped her finger and the box disappeared. Instead a plates with fruits and sweets appeared on the table, "Don't worry they are all fresh~", mana giggled while eating one of the grapes, "see?", while chewing it and shwalloing it.

The magican noticed atem's gaze right away. Yes.. she should explain. Of course he would be confused. Maybe this was really to much. But the book said that you treat the person you love like this.. maybe the book lied? What a mess..

With a blush mana stood up and walked infront of the pharao. "My dear atem, I'm sorry for acting all mysteryious. I wish you happy birthday. And this garden as everything in it is my present for you! I created this garden in the thought of you!" the magican smiled with a special gaze in her eyes. She looked at him with pure love. Spreading her arms out to her sides as to show of the garden, "The whole garden", then she pointed on the seats and the food, "plus everything in it belongs to you".

Mana took one last step closer to him as she hugged herself, "even me~", she whispered so only he could hear, blushing cutely. With that mana turned around, blushing heavily, her heart beating faster as usually. Not wanting to look at him. Was she scared? Maybe? Would atem understand what she was trying to say? Maybe? Hopefully?
