Alberta is doing her goddamn best.

Alberta is a woman in a society that has determined her sum total value is either in her ability to fight and die for the Moroi or breed new cannon fodder soldiers for them.

Her willingness to follow orders when it counts is the thin line that keeps her in the best position to look out for the people that matter to her and out of the communes.

If your takeaway from this episode is that Alberta is in any way at fault for what happened, or that she is a bitch, cold hearted, unfeeling etc. then you have not been paying attention.

She cares so much about Rose, about Mikhail, about the Guardians and Novices in the field. The entire episode is Alberta barely holding her shit together, from the moment she's told about the plan until the moment she sees Rose and Dimitri kneeling beside his body. And it's Alberta holding it together that helps Rose do the same. Because that's what they do. That's the only choice they have.

You can't tell me that a part of Dimitri pushing Rose away isn't because he is just freaking The Fuck Out about her claim that Lissa has specialised in a fifth element right after his admission that he needs the rules and structure of their society to feel secure. Sure the biggest thing was that moment of hesitation. But someone who has lived their life rigidly conforming to the rules and believing almost blindly in the faith? Rose slamming him with "she got that special magic" right after tempting him with the freedom of the human world was just too much for our boy and he's gotta go do some soul searching (and maybe get kicked in the face).

I will be deeply sad if they have completely removed the 80's music and the cowboy obsession from show!Dimitri. Much more than the hair, the accent or the duster, I loved that Dimitri is canonically this weird little nerd in a jock body, and show!Rose deserves to tease him about it as a cornerstone of their relationship.

Random thought; could Tatiana be an alchemist? Or a witch? Considering she doesn't move like a Moroi. I've not read Bloodlines so I'm not sure that anything would disqualify her from that that we've learned so far. She only wants the throne, she doesn't want to rule, wouldn't it make sense she's maybe part of an attempt of the Alchemists to further remove vampires from the human world/exterminate them completely.

So I figured this out sometime last week and I wanted to share considering I have seen some questions floating across different platforms re: St Vladimirs location.

Christian gets these coordinates on the back of the ski lift ticket: 43.0485 N 2.631 E

Which is right here, 1.5 hours north of the French/Spanish border.

So fairly confident that St Vlads is in Southern France (also supported by Christian talking about their family cabin in Mont Blanc which is on the French/Italian border).
