‘ I’ve been here before. It’s not exactly a thrilling little village but it’s somewhere to hide out for ... ‘ the words a few weeks sit on the tip of his tongue, but he’s afraid to be so hopeful. Not when ever movement caught out of the corner of his eye leaves him on edge, expecting any moment to see gilded eyes staring back in his reflection. But in the presence of the other man he tries to keep paranoid thought at bay.

The path beneath them gives away how obscured the place is; narrow and almost overtaken by the forest on either side of them. He doesn’t mind it. Not when it gives the excuse for them to be close whenever the medic slows his pace.
