Tooth Inconsistences?
My black bear has an extra tooth! or does she? multiple sources online say black bears have 42 teeth, but most images online have less than that and mine has 37? I did find some that had more than mine though. What causes these inconsistencies?
Oh my god- can mushrooms be preserved the same way animal wet specimens are?
Sometimes I find awesome mushrooms but I can’t keep them bc they’ll rot away.
New additions!
I just got home after visiting my family up in Oregon! They’re avid hunters (though ethical, what the kill they eat and use) and they gave me some of their bones! I got a black bear skull, an atlas vertebrae from what I think is a deer, and some bear claws I’m going to make a necklace out of!
As you can see, there both really dirty. I’m gonna try to clean em up before I send them off to rot. Do any of you have advice for getting really stuck-on dirt off?
Where to purchase taxidermy supplies
I used to have a website I purchased raw skulls from but for the life of me I can't recall the website. Where do you guys usually shop for skull/pelts/etc?
