Going through boxes that have been in the closet since I moved trying to get stuff put away and I found my CD copy of the Interview with the Vampire movie soundtrack (also the DVD... also some really dorky photos of me as a 20-year-old goth kid loose in San Francisco).

I keep everything, I'm worse than Armand.

So while walking to work this morning I looked down in the grass and saw a jaw bone above the dirt and some other pieces from my lil lady p.ossom I had collected very few pieces of a couple months ago. On the way home I remembered I had a zip lock bag still in my backpack (along with my box of gloves) and had help from my mom collecting more of my lil lady. I got her right lower jaw now, a lot of teeth, some ribs, a femur, and some more vertebrae. Because of how close to the road she lays my mom was getting nervous about the cars, and one of my coworkers actually stopped to see if we were okay coming back from her break, so hopefully tomorrow no one runs over that part of the grass because there's still some whole pieces to her I'd like to get. Sadly her skull was crushed long before as I found another piece of cranium and have a section of her upper jaw. I know there's a lot of dirt still floating, but that's what was in her vertebrae and empty teeth sections. I rinsed off as much as I could before hand 😕 but at least I have more of her. Such a shame I can't give her the comfort of being whole again since a lot of her was broken to almost nothing.

Got some super cute stuff from @maikuuro 's shop!. So many stickers and a little pin. Thank you so much!! Your note was really sweet and this little package totally made my day!

Now I just need to get over my fear of using stickers and find fun places to put them! (My cat got interested when I was taking photos 😂😂.) The pin is on my bag so I have a cute little Louis to travel around with.

It's all so adorable. Highly recommend!! It's making me super happy right now.

life sucks and i hate myself but at least i have 4 deer jaws to yank teeth out of to make a necklace 

(plus my own 2 wisdom teeth will be in the center of the necklace bc teeth)

found a little button buck on the side of the road and i lovingly named him "sunshine" but he was a bit too wet to collect from yet* 

his soft tissue was gone, like his eyes and inner ears, but his hide was thick and crackly and some of his bones were wet and smelly still. 

i wanna go back and get his skull, especially since whoever hit him seemed to have pulled him off the road too, there was a blanket set under his head and everything and his hooves since all 4 legs were still intact fairly well. 

i would love to have him but i'll have to wait and see how things go. 

*only too wet since people in my family im with think my hobby is "gross" and "morbid"

Day 2 and 3 of the vulture culture meme thing ayyyy. The tag is so active rn and it’s actually really cool.

Day 2: How did you find out about vulture culture?

I’ve always been into this stuff, since I was a little kid. I was always the one grossing people out because I found something cool out on a walk and then begging my mom to let me keep it. And her saying no. And then me smuggling it into my bedroom anyways.

Before I found specifically VC communities online I spent a lot of time avidly keeping up with more popular taxidermists and people who had impressive bone collections. Deviantart and places like that mostly. Eventually  I found my way into communities like this, but I’ve never actually been involved! That’s why I decided to do this! I’ve always been really bad about lurking.

Day 3: What is your collection mostly; bones, pelts. taxidermy, a mixture?

I want to say a mixture because at this point I have a good amount of a lot of things, but I know if I separated everything out and took tallies I’d have waaay more bones than anything else.
