to all you kids out there doing vce studio art or any vce arts subject: learn the goddamn language!!
i would consistently annotate my folio and go in depth about what i liked and why i liked it, i would get marked down because i wasnt using the language they needed to know that i knew what i was talking about
you can be as descriptive as all hell, but unless you use the language that they are looking for, they cant mark you to the level you should be
art elements, art principles, (going into drama here) expressive skills, dramatic elements, etc. these are all lists of words they can actually grade you on! these words are what theyre looking for!
it seems crazy to try and memorise them i know. get into the habit of having the lists next to you in class or when annotating so you can implement these words. eventually, when you get through your folio or you start mock exams, youll find you can remember them so much easier. some will even be second nature
please dont be stubborn! use the language the examiners are looking for
